Collection Story
Origin
Cellu is a lamp collection by Simon Legald, with 2023 as its year of design. Normann Copenhagen launched it in October 2023 as a table lamp and an enlarged floor lamp. The collection is built on eye-catching proportions and classic references, and it is a modern interpretation of the classic folded lampshade.
Design Language
The shade keeps clear references to the iconic pleated lampshades while the overall design is given a contemporary, updated look. An aluminium column and a steel base, both powder-coated, carry the shade, and the base has an enlarged, distinctive expression. Column and base come in complementary colour combinations that give the collection a playful feel. Cellu is a fusion of the new and the old, with references to classic craftsmanship and to new design principles.
Key Pieces
The table lamp measures H35 x Ø27 cm in four colour options, and the floor lamp measures H168.5 x Ø49.5 cm in three. Both lamps use a white textile cord of 2 m with an E27 fitting, and the weights are 2.3 kg for the table lamp and 8.7 kg for the floor lamp.
