Collection Story
Origin
Fredericia says Calmo Sofa, designed by Hugo Passos, has been a favourite of the company and its customers since its launch in 2019, and that it was crafted with longevity in mind so that everyday life is a focal point of the design. Passos describes the collection as a contemporary update of Borge Mogensen's ethos: functional, long-lasting furniture for everyday life.
Design Language
Tight upholstery is paired with casual loose cushions that have a solid foam core in a down wrap. A textile cover on both sides lets a cushion be turned over, and a continuous stitch from the front to the rear end of the arm leaves the armrest without visible stitching where a sofa is usually most prone to wear. The collection runs from small 2 seater sofas to larger corner configurations.
