Collection Story
Origin
Richard Schultz developed the 1966 Collection after Florence Knoll asked for outdoor furniture that could withstand corrosive salt air. Work on the aluminium group began years before its March 1966 introduction.
Design Language
Straight frames, suspended slings and concealed connectors give the collection a direct modern character. Current production combines aluminium, powder-coated surfaces and stainless-steel components for outdoor use.
Key Pieces
Knoll lists lounge chairs and multi-seat lounges, two chaise formats, dining seating and tables, occasional tables and a serving cart. Together they extend one construction vocabulary across sitting, reclining, dining and service functions.
