Brand Story
Heritage
Gandia Blasco was founded in 1941 in Ontinyent, Valencia (Spain) as a textile company making blankets. In the late 1980s it reinvented itself without betraying those textile origins: designers Marisa Gallén and Sandra Figuerola redesigned the company logo and created its first reversible rug collection, which received the IMPIVA Award in 1990. In 1996 José A. Gandía-Blasco Canales built a summer house on a cliff in the north of Ibiza and, needing outdoor furniture that suited it, designed the company's first outdoor furniture collection — the origin of the GANDIABLASCO brand.
Philosophy
The brand describes its work as a passion for life outdoors, Mediterranean-style. Its first collection combined aluminium profiles with polyethylene in an elemental, architectural geometry, and that essential design of architectural lines still defines its furniture and pergola collections, conceived as large families of pieces. Gandia Blasco names three values: design and innovation, quality and sustainability (products composed of almost 100% recyclable materials) and durability and longevity — timeless designs that should not follow trends.

Iconic Works
Collections designed by José A. Gandía-Blasco Canales include DNA, DNA Teak, Daybed, Chill, Cono, Islablanca, GBmodular, Arco and the Basic and Flex pergolas. The company also works with outside designers such as Kengo Kuma, Nao Tamura, Francesco Meda & David Quincoces, Søren Rose and Todd Bracher, and its group timeline records awards for Blau by Fran Silvestre, Flat by Mario Ruiz and Tropez by Stefan Diez.

Today
GANDIABLASCO is the main brand of the Gandia Blasco Group, alongside the rug brand GAN and the outdoor brand DIABLA. The company reports 35 collections, 19 designers and a presence in 74 countries, is certified to ISO 9001:2015 for the design, manufacture and sale of outdoor furniture, rugs, textiles and outdoor lighting, and runs the International Outdoor Furniture Design Contest. Its headquarters remain at C/ Músico Vert 4 in Ontinyent, where part of the historic factory has been converted into La Casa Gandia Blasco.
