Cassina는 1927년 체사레 카시나와 움베르토 카시나(Cesare and Umberto Cassina) 형제가 밀라노 북쪽 브리안자 지역의 **메다(Meda)**에서 가구 제작 공방 "Amedeo Cassina"로 설립했습니다. 전후에는 디자인과 생산을 분리하고 외부 건축가들과 협업을 시작했는데, 그중에서도 **지오 폰티(Gio Ponti)**와의 협업이 대표적입니다. 1952년에는 그와 함께 여객선 Andrea Doria의 인테리어 가구를 제작했고, 1957년부터는 699 Superleggera 체어를 생산했습니다.
철학
Cassina는 자사의 발자취를 장인 공방에서 산업 생산으로 나아간 여정으로 설명하며, 연구와 기술을 오랜 장인 정신과 결합해 왔습니다. 1969년에는 리서치 센터를 설립했으며, 이탈리아 디자인에 대한 문화적 공헌을 인정받아 Compasso d'Oro를 수상했습니다.

- I Maestri — **르 코르뷔지에(Le Corbusier), 피에르 잔느레(Pierre Jeanneret), 샤를로트 페리앙(Charlotte Perriand)**의 공식 복각판(1964–65년부터)으로, 이후 리트벨트(Rietveld), 매킨토시(Mackintosh), 프랭크 로이드 라이트(Frank Lloyd Wright)로 확장되었으며 각 디자이너의 재단과 함께 고증을 거쳐 제작됩니다

현재
Cassina는 피에로 리소니(Piero Lissoni), 필립 스탁(Philippe Starck), 파트리시아 우르키올라(Patricia Urquiola) 등 현대 디자이너들과 꾸준히 협업하고 있으며, 컨트랙트 프로젝트를 위한 Custom Interiors를 운영하고, 매장과 자체 온라인 숍을 통해 판매합니다. 현재 Haworth 그룹의 일원입니다.
