Overview
The V11 Lounge Chair was designed by Illum Wikkelsø in 1965. GUBI describes a high back, deep seat, low arms and cushioning around the chair, reflecting Wikkelsø’s view that seating should accommodate more than one posture.
Construction
An angular upholstered body is supported by signature inverted-pyramid legs in solid American walnut. For the referenced configuration, the legs have an oiled finish and the chair is upholstered in Forli by Limonta. GUBI recreated the design through a 3D-scanning process and lists it as FSC® certified under FSC®-C176589.
Specifications
The official drawing gives overall dimensions of 960 × 940 × 840 mm (W × D × H). It also labels a 510 mm armrest height and a 410 mm seat height.

GUBI dates Illum Wikkelsø’s V11 Lounge Chair to 1965. Its generous seat and high back reflect his belief that a successful chair should permit different sitting positions rather than prescribe a single posture.
Recreated by GUBI
GUBI rebuilt the archival design with 3D scanning, preserving the trapezoidal body and inverted-pyramid legs. The present V11 family includes this lounge chair and a matching ottoman, and both pieces carry FSC® certification under licence FSC®-C176589.
