Overview
GamFratesi designed the Tibeau bench as a companion to the Tibeau bed. Its low, rectilinear frame and padded seat repeat the bed's contrast between a robust timber structure and soft upholstery.
Construction
The frame is stained solid ash with plastic support tips. A plywood seat structure carries shaped polyurethane padding, a bonded-velveteen cover and removable outer upholstery.
Published code
The official sheet identifies the bench as TPA1 and prints 160, 41.1 and 32.5 cm on its drawing without written axis labels.
Histoire
Strength and softness
Molteni&C describes Tibeau through a dialogue between structural permanence and upholstered comfort. The bench concentrates that idea into a low piece: exposed solid-wood members establish the geometry, while a single padded seat softens the frame.
Connected to the bed
Rather than treating the bench as an unrelated accessory, GamFratesi carries over the bed's architectural language and material character. It can accompany the bed at its foot or stand independently while retaining the same visual relationship between timber and cushioning.
