Overview
Spello is a 2018 table by Gabriele and Oscar Buratti. Flexform traces its sculptural supports to Brutalism, setting their robust shapes against the detailed surface of the top.
Construction
Two epoxy powder-coated metal bases support a rectangular top. Wood versions use Canaletto walnut, ash or oak; stone versions draw from Flexform's marble schedule. Flexform offers rectangular formats only.
Specifications
Code 025280, the representative wooden-top model, measures 200 × 105 × 73 cm. Flexform documents three lengths in both wood and marble.
Geschichte
Brutalist reference
Flexform names Brutalism as the source of Spello's rugged, raw forms and robust structure. The two separate metal bases give that architectural reference a clear physical presence beneath the top.
Counterpoint at the top
The manufacturer sets the severity of the supports against a more intricate upper surface. On the wood version, the boards recall inlay work and a subtle opening runs along the top; the same rectangular design is also offered in several marbles.
