Setu Side Chair

Responsive structure

Setu Side Chair uses a Kinematic Spine combining two polypropylene formulations to control resistance as the sitter reclines. The back works with Intercept suspension or with upholstered C-Layer Suspension.

Configurations

The chair is offered armless or with fixed arms, with a four-star base and glides. Herman Miller lists suspension and upholstered back options, plus a protective bumper.

Dimensions

The armless version measures 19 in wide, 23.4 in deep and 36 in high; the version with arms is 25.1 in wide at the same depth and height.

Shaped around changing work

Studio 7.5 developed Setu around the movement between collaborative and less formal settings. Instead of requiring a sequence of adjustments, the side chair relies on its Kinematic Spine and suspension to respond as the sitter moves.

Reduced material

Herman Miller describes Setu as a dematerialized design. The side chair combines a slender structural system with a four-star base, while its dipped-in-color option can carry one hue across the visible components.
