Overview
Saari is a 2009 seating system by Lievore Altherr Molina. Arper groups chairs, armchairs, sofas and benches within the family and positions them for hospitality, workplace and residential interiors.
Construction
The representative small armchair 2732 has a metal-and-plywood frame and a four-leg base. Arper offers polished or powder-coated steel and an oak-effect reconstituted veneer base. The collection supports fabric, leather or coated-fabric upholstery.
Range
The family extends from small armchairs to one-, two- and three-seat lounge pieces and an ottoman.
Histoire
Classic and contemporary
Arper describes Saari as a synthesis of classic and contemporary qualities. Its sculptural, enveloping seating form is carried through several formats rather than being limited to a single chair type.
A broad seating system
The collection was developed for settings including restaurants, bars, hotels and lobbies, while the current page also places it in lounges, waiting rooms, shared areas, offices and homes. The range of bases and upholstery types adapts that shared form to different contexts.
