Sculptural daybed
Elisa Ossino's Pantalica sunbed combines a long linear sleeping surface with a curved woven end and cylindrical supports. Molteni&C describes the piece as a chaise longue and daybed for outdoor lounge areas.

Outdoor construction
A sturdy aluminium base is covered in weatherproof polypropylene rattan. Cylindrical cushions create the sleeping surface and raised end. An EVA strap holds the shaped headrest in place, while the liner cushion follows the body. Covers are fully removable and available in Molteni&C Outdoor Collection fabrics.
PLE1 dimensions
The complete PLE1 daybed measures 90 × 212 cm. Its largest vertical value is 66.6 cm; that value is not labelled with an axis on the drawing.
Histoire
Mediterranean reference
Molteni&C says Pantalica takes its name from the UNESCO World Heritage Site in south-eastern Sicily. Ossino's forms look to ancient cultures of Sicily and the wider Mediterranean basin, translating that archaic reference into a contemporary outdoor object.
Curves and linearity
The design balances the continuous line of the long cushion bed with a curved woven end. Repeated cylinders appear in the supports and cushions, connecting the daybed's structure, surface and headrest in one geometric language.
