Overview
Philippe Starck's 2020 Oh, it rains! armchair combines an enveloping high back with a folding action conceived for outdoor weather.
Construction
The frame is aluminium. Different-density shaped polyurethane forms the upholstery beneath a water-repellent polyester-fibre cover; an optional waterproof cloth is PU-coated PES.
Dimensions
The representative OH140PS armchair measures 1400 × 1000 × 1420 mm with the back raised. The drawing labels a 410 mm seat height and an 810 mm width across the lower seat section.
Geschichte
Shelter built into the chair
The high back is not only a visual enclosure. B&B Italia describes it as creating a cosy, protective space, then gives it a second task: the back can fold down over the seat when rain or poor weather arrives.
A named companion piece
