Storia
A chair reduced to its essentials
Arper introduces Norma through the image of a child's drawing of a chair: a direct outline built from only the elements needed to express seating. That idea carries from the chair versions into the stools, where the tall back, straight legs and narrow profile preserve the family's formal economy.
Detail within restraint
The apparently simple form gains variation through upholstery and stitching. Arper offers the family in several cover types and calls attention to exposed seams, including a contrasting treatment for leather. Norma received a Red Dot Product Design Award in 2007.
The gallery adds a wider hospitality view and a darker bar installation, showing the high-backed stool format in two further settings (gallery:1; gallery:2).
