Overview
Nice is a 2022 dining chair by GamFratesi. Poltrona Frau describes two flexible, overlapping cases for the back and seat shell, with the opening between them forming the recognisable rear detail.
Construction
A moulded plastic shell and moulded polyurethane-foam padding sit on either die-cast aluminium trestle legs or solid-ash legs. The wooden base reduces seat height by 25 mm. Leather, fabric and combined Saddle Extra outer-shell treatments are available.
Specifications
The metal-base model 5680001 measures 510 × 570 × 830 mm overall. Upholstery is fixed rather than removable; tailored stitching traces the outer profile.
Geschichte
A 2022 introduction
Poltrona Frau introduced Nice among the novelties of its True Evolution 2022 collection. The manufacturer called it a small table armchair for the dining room and credited the Copenhagen studio GamFratesi.
Two folded elements
The concept centres on a back case and seat shell that flex and overlap like folded sheets. Their meeting produces an opening at the rear, while upholstery and perimeter stitching emphasise the distinction between inner sitting surface and exterior shell.
