Massimosistema Sofa Bed

Overview

The Massimosistema Sofa-bed keeps its conversion mechanism inside the frame so the closed piece resembles a two-seat sofa. Seat and back cushions remain attached when the bed is opened.

Construction

The frame combines birch plywood and seasoned poplar. A painted-steel mechanism tips the back in one movement, assisted by a Saddle Extra leather handle. The sleeping surface uses beech slats and elastic belts.

Hidden transformation

Poltrona Frau’s product page stresses that the mechanism disappears within the structure. The cushions are fixed to it, so the sofa can unfold without first removing the back or seat cushions.

A complete sleeping surface

The leather pull handle initiates the folding movement. Behind it, an anthracite-painted steel mechanism supports a base of beech slats and elastic belts, plus a single specified pocket-spring mattress.
