Mario Bellini (né le 1er février 1935) est un architecte et designer italien. Diplômé du Politecnico di Milano en 1959, il a construit une carrière couvrant l'architecture, la scénographie d'expositions, le design produit et le mobilier pendant le boom économique italien.
Style signature
À partir de 1963, Bellini devient consultant pour Olivetti, donnant forme à des machines telles que la Programma 101, la calculatrice Divisumma 28 et la machine à écrire Praxis 35. Son mobilier repose sur la même pensée sculpturale et tactile : volumes modulaires souples et cuir utilisé comme structure.

- Fauteuil Cab pour Cassina (1977), premier fauteuil à structure en cuir autoportante
- Canapé modulaire Camaleonda pour B&B Italia, présenté au MoMA en 1972
- Olivetti Programma 101 et terminal TCV 250
- Architecture : Villa Erba à Cernobbio, NGV International à Melbourne, le département des Arts de l'Islam du Louvre (avec Rudy Ricciotti)
Héritage
Lauréat de huit Compasso d'Oro et de la Médaille d'or de la Triennale di Milano pour l'ensemble de sa carrière, Bellini compte 25 œuvres dans la collection permanente du MoMA ; le MoMA lui a consacré une rétrospective en 1987. Il a dirigé la revue Domus de 1985 à 1991.
