Biography
Background
Lise Vester is a Copenhagen-based designer, born in 1991, who holds a Master of Arts in Design Products from the Royal College of Art in London. Her own site says she collaborated with a Danish hospice during her studies, an experience that showed her how design and architecture can create stimulating and caring atmospheres. She runs Lise Vester Studio, which describes itself as a Copenhagen-based sensory design practice creating limited-edition lighting, mirrors and bespoke objects.
Signature Style
Vester writes that sensory and aesthetic design increases our wellbeing. Her work often has playful and sculptural elements that speak to the senses and the mind, and her studio explores the interplay of light, reflective surfaces and tactile materials. In a Muuto studio visit she is described as having a background in Healing Architecture.
Notable Works
Her site lists furniture such as the Dream View Bench, Keel and the LV1 Sofa, lighting including Idea Generator, Lighthouse and Cirrus, and objects such as Reflections and Fragments. With Muuto she designed the Dream View Bench, which her site says was designed in 2021 and launched with Muuto in 2026, and the Inner View Object, a numbered edition of 150 pieces for Muuto's 20th anniversary.
Legacy
Her site records Designer of the Year at the BoBedre Design Awards in 2022 and a nomination as Rising Star of the Year at the Scandinavian Design Award in 2023. The Dream View Bench won Best in Outdoor at the ELLE DECOR International Design Awards 2026 and at the IDEAT Design Awards 2026, and a permanent installation of the benches stands in the garden of Designmuseum Danmark.
