Origin
Linear Steel is Muuto's outdoor series by Thomas Bentzen. A Muuto story says Bentzen set out to reinterpret traditional wooden outdoor furniture in steel, taking classic oak tables as his starting point, and that the series began with a table and a bench before growing to nine typologies. A banner on the family page says each design is produced in Europe from galvanized and powder-coated steel.
Design Language
The family page describes straight lines, folded edges, half-circular intersecting legs and narrow gaps that let water run off. The story adds that each piece is galvanized before it receives a deep matte, UV-resistant powder coat.
